This filter system contains a 10 micron sediment filter, which reduces dirt and fine sediment, and a 0.5 micron carbon filter which reduces taste, odour, and chlorine. As well it is effective at filtering Cryptosporidium and Giardia cysts. Ultraviolet light is used to disinfect the water using beams of ultraviolet light which inactivate bacteria, protozoa (such as Cryptosporidium which is resistant to chlorine) and viruses. It is a safe, reliable and cost effective way of treating water.
